Packraft on Loch Maree

We were invited to present our Movie “The Power of Dreams“ at the Adventure Film Festival in London, Scotland and Australia. We could not go to London but Arthur and Dom decided to discover Scotland. Dom just landed from his climbing and packraft trip in Canada and Arthur was ready for more adventures. After presenting the movie at Poolewe, we indeed decided to packraft the Loch Maree and run through the rapids leading back to Polewe and the ocean. We were in mid-September and the midges were quiet.

The old Man of Storr

Leaving our friends from the Poolewe festival we drove to the Isle of Skye.

After visiting the Talisker Whisky Distillery, the only distillery of the Isle of Skye, we needed a walk up to the Old Man of Storr.

Bothy "The Lookout" Bothy

We then hiked under heavy wind to the Lookout Bothy at the northern most tip of the Isle of Skye. This was our first night in a Bothy. The “Lookout” is a unique place on top of cliffs with an incredible view on the North Sea and on sunsets and sunrises.

A Bothy is shelter in free access for hikers in UK (see mountainbothies.org.uk).

Corryhully Bothy

Glenfinnan bridge has become an important touristic attraction since it appeared in Harry Potter movies. But Glenfinnan hides other treasures, like the Corryhully Bothy where we spent a wonderful evening and night.
